Midnight Oil were formed in Sydney in 1976, with Peter Garrett as their lead singer.  

They have released 11 studio albums, including Midnight Oil (1978), Diesel and Dust (1987), Blue Sky Mining (1990) & Capricornia (2002).

They were widely recognised for their unique hard-rock style as well as their political activism.
