Silverchair was formed in Newcastle in 1992, with lead singer Daniel Johns, bassist Chris Joannou and drummer Ben GIllies.

 

They released 5 studios albums, including Frogstomp (1995), Freak Show (1997) & Young Modern (2007).

The band has a won a record number of 21 ARIA awards.
