Yothu Yindi was formed in 1986, and comprised both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal members.

They released 6 studio albums, including Homeland Movement (1988), Tribal Voice (1991) & One Blood (1998).

Yothu Yindi's most prominent song was 'Treaty', written in 1991 to protest the lack of momentum towards a treaty between the Aboriginal people and the Australian Federal Government.
